The UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu on March 28, 2025, notified regarding the classification of Co-operative Societies into classes and sub-classes.
It has classified co-operative societies into various classes and sub-classes based on their functions. These include: -
• Agricultural Marketing, Multi-Purpose, and Apex Co-operative Societies, Consumer and Co-operative Banks, Farming, Housing, Processing, and Producer Co-operative Societies.
• Further categories include Credit, Resource, and Irrigation Societies, along with General Co-operative Societies for social, commercial, or miscellaneous purposes.
• Each class addresses specific needs such as agricultural support, credit, housing, processing, and service provision for members.
